Prästtjärn and outdoor cooking

A sunny spring day at Prästtjärn, with green woodland, lake views and cooking on the rocks. We made pork pancakes and grilled beef chuck sausages.

The story

Spring greens and a lakeside kitchen.

On 11 May 2018, we headed to Prästtjärn for a lovely, sunny spring day of outdoor cooking. The woodland was dressed in fresh green leaves, and the lake offered views across the water to the wooded shores.

On the rocks beside the water, we set up our rest spot with a tarp, sleeping mats and a camping stove. The backpacks took a break while we unpacked ingredients and cooking gear. A little open-air kitchen, right beside the lake.

We made pork pancakes and grilled beef chuck sausages. The photographs follow the cooking from ingredients laid out on the rocks to pork in the frying pan and pancake batter poured over it. No fancy table setting needed — the view provided most of the decoration.

It was a day that brought walking and cooking together. Spring greenery, water and homemade food in the open air — a lovely memory from Prästtjärn.
